NIHB-Covered Therapy for First Nations & Inuit Clients
Accessible, Compassionate Support Through the Non-Insured Health Benefits Program
Everyone deserves access to compassionate, high-quality therapy—without financial barriers. Through the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program, First Nations and Inuit clients with a valid status card can receive up to 22 fully covered therapy sessions each year.
If you ever need more than 22 sessions, I will advocate on your behalf to request additional coverage so you never go without the support you need.
Understanding the Realities of Access in Remote and Rural Communities
I recognize the unique challenges many First Nations and Inuit people face when seeking mental health care. Having lived in the Northwest Territories and now based in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, I understand how difficult it can be to find culturally safe, consistent, and experienced providers—especially in remote regions.
Providing Culturally Safe, Effective Care
I am committed to offering:
- Respectful, trauma-informed support
- Flexible, accessible therapy options
- Care that honours your lived experience, community, and environment
- Evidence-based approaches tailored to your needs
My intention is to provide therapy that feels safe, grounded, and genuinely supportive for First Nations and Inuit clients, whether you are located locally or in a remote northern community.
